A method and apparatus for cooling two or more liquefied hydrocarbon streams. First (30) and second (30a) liquefied hydrocarbon streams are provided and combined thereby providing a combined liquefied hydrocarbon stream (40). The combined liquefied hydrocarbon stream (40) is further cooled against a refrigerant thereby providing a further cooled liquefied hydrocarbon stream (50) such as liquefied natural gas (LNG).

A floating plant for liquefying natural gas comprising a barge (2) provided with a liquefaction plant (3), means for receiving natural gas and with means for storing and discharging liquefied natural gas, which liquefaction plant (3) includes a heat exchange (12) in which heat removed when liquefying natural gas is transferred to water, which barge (2) is further provided with a receptacle (20), an open-ended water intake conduit (25) having an inlet (28), a connecting conduit (35) extending from the outlet (30) of the water intake conduit (25) to the receptacle (20), a pump (40) for transporting water from the receptacle (20) to the heat exchanger (12) and a water discharge system (45) for discharging water removed from the heat exchanger (12), wherein the connecting conduit (35) has the shape of an inverted 'U' of which the top (47) is located above the receptacle (20).

The present invention provides a method of natural gas, the method at least comprising the steps of: (a) providing a natural gas stream (10) at a first location (2); (b) treating the natural gas stream (10) in the first location (2) thereby obtaining a treated natural gas stream (20), wherein the treated natural gas stream comprises in the range of from 70 to 100 mole% of methane; (c) transporting the treated natural gas stream (20) via a pipeline (4) over a distance of at least 2 km to a second location (3); (d) liquefying the treated natural gas stream (20) at the second location (3) thereby obtaining liquefied hydrocarbon product (50) at atmospheric pressure.

The present invention provides a method of liquefying a hydrocarbon stream such as natural gas, the method at least comprising the steps of : (a) providing a hydrocarbon stream (10) at a first location (2), wherein the first location is situated onshore; (b) treating the hydrocarbon stream (10) in the first location (2) thereby obtaining a treated hydrocarbon stream (20); (c) transporting the treated hydrocarbon stream (20) via a pipeline (4) over a.distance of at least 2 km to a second location (3), wherein the second location is situated off-shore; (d), liquefying the treated, hydrocarbon stream (20) at the second location (3) thereby obtaining liquefied hydrocarbon product (50) at atmospheric pressure.

Method of driving two or more refrigerant compressors in a hydrocarbon cooling process. In such a hydrocarbon cooling process a hydrocarbon feed stream (10) may be passed against partly evaporating refrigerant streams. The at least partly evaporated refrigerant streams (35a, 37a) are compressed through refrigerant compressors (34, 36). One or more gas turbines (54) are driven to provide electrical power (56) and hot gas. The hot gas (57) is passed through one or more steam heat exchangers (58) to provide steam power, which is used to drive one or more steam turbines (82) to drive at least one of the refrigerant compressors (34). The electrical power is used to drive (76) at least another one of the refrigerant compressors (36).

Process for the preparation of liquid hydrocarbons from a light hydrocarbonaceous feedstock in combination with a process for liquefying natural gas, which liquefaction process comprises the steps of: (a) passing the natural gas at liquefaction pressure through the product side of a main heat exchanger; (b) introducing cooled liquefied refrigerant at refrigerant pressure in the cold side of the main heat exchanger, allowing the cooled refrigerant to evaporate at the refrigerant pressure in the cold side of the main heat exchanger to obtain vaporous refrigerant at refrigerant pressure, and removing vaporous refrigerant from the cold side of the main heat exchanger; (c) removing the liquefied gas at liquefaction pressure from the product side of the main heat exchanger; (d) allowing the cooled liquefied gas to expand to a lower pressure to obtain expanded fluid; (e) supplying the expanded fluid to a separator vessel; (f) withdrawing from the bottom of the separator vessel a liquid product stream; (g) withdrawing from the top of the separator vessel a gaseous stream; (h) introducing the gaseous stream obtained in step (g) as feed and/or fuel in the process for the preparation of liquid hydrocarbons, which process for the preparation of hydrocarbons comprises converting a light hydrocarbonaceous feedstock into synthesis gas, followed by catalytic conversion of the synthesis gas into liquid hydrocarbons.

The present invention relates to a method for the regasification of liquefied natural gas, the method at least comprising the steps of: a) removing liquefied natural gas (10) from a storage tank (2) using a first pump unit (3); b) passing the removed liquefied natural gas (20) to and feeding it into a second pump unit (4) at an inlet pressure; c) increasing the pressure of the liquefied natural gas in the second pump unit (4) thereby obtaining pressurized liquefied natural gas (50); d) vaporizing the pressurized liquefied natural gas (50) thereby obtaining gaseous natural gas (60); wherein the second pump unit (4) discharges the pressurized liquefied natural gas (50) at a pre-selected pressure value, regardless of the inlet pressure at the second pump unit (4).

A method for receiving fluid from a natural gas pipeline, the fluid comprising gaseous hydrocarbons, liquid hydrocarbons, water and optionally solids, the method comprising: (a) in a slug catcher (10), receiving the fluid comprising gaseous hydrocarbons, liquid hydrocarbons, water and optionally solids from at least one pipeline (20a, 20b, 20c) ( b) in the slug catcher (10) , separating at least a portion of the gaseous hydrocarbons from the rest of the fluid to leave a liquid mixture or a liquid/ solid mixture; (c) directing at least a portion of the liquid mixture or liquid/solid mixture to a separation vessel (14), preferably a three-phase separation vessel; and (d) in the event of a surge of liquids and optionally solids to the slug catcher (10), directing at least a portion of the liquid mixture or the liquid/solid mixture from the slug catcher (10) to a surge vessel (12).

The present invention relates to a method of liquefying a natural gas stream, wherein the natural gas stream (10) is provided at a pressure of 10-80 bar, supplied to a gas/liquid separator (31), and separated into a vaporous stream (40) and a liquid stream (30). The vaporous stream (40) is compressed to a pressure of at least 70, 84 bar heat exchanged against the vaporous stream (40), and liquefied to obtain a liquefied natural gas stream (100).

The present invention relates to a method of liquefying a natural gas stream, wherein the natural gas stream (10) is provided at a pressure of 30-80 bar, expanded to a pressure < 35 bar, supplied to a gas/liquid separator (31) and therein into a vaporous stream (40) and a liquid stream (30). The pressure of the vaporous stream is increased to a pressure of at least 70 bar and the pressurized vaporous stream (90) is liquefied to obtain a liquefied natural gas stream.
