THE PRESENT INVENTION RELATES TO A METHOD FOR PRODUCING FERMENTED PALM KERNEL CAKE IN A SOLID STATE FERMENTATION, COMPRISING THE STEPS OF INOCULATING A PALM KERNEL CAKE WITH AN INOCULUM COMPRISING OF A BACTERIUM AND A FUNGUS IN A RATIO OF 3:7 BY WEIGHT; WHEREIN THE BACTERIUM IS SELECTED FROM A GROUP COMPRISING OF BACILLUS AMYLOLIQUEFACIENS, BACILLUS SUBTILIS STRAIN PY79, AND BACILLUS SUBTILIS STRAIN F121112, AND THE FUNGUS IS SELECTED FROM A GROUP COMPRISING OF CLADOSPORIUM HERBARUM AND EMERICELLA QUADRILINEATA; AND INCUBATING THE INOCULATED PALM KERNEL CAKE.
