For example, the embodiments herein describe an ergonomic mode of an application that displays the graphical user interface (GUI) of the application in a bottom area of the display screen of the electronic device to allow the user to more easily interact with objects. The embodiments herein also describe an ergonomic mode of a keyboard displayed on the display screen of the portable electronic device. During the ergonomic mode of the keyboard, the keyboard is shifted towards a vertical edge of the display screen to allow a user to more easily reach keys of the keyboard that were previously unreachable without the user switching to two handed operation of the device or repositioning the electronic device in the user's hand.

Dynamic Text Layout Rules US14503209
[Jason Clay Beaver, Elizabeth Caroline Furches Cranfill, Eric Lance Wilson, David Chance Graham, Johannes Fortmann, Olivier Gutknecht, Antonio Cavedoni] US CA Cupertino A system, method and non-transitory, computer-readable storage medium are disclosed for implementing dynamic layout rules for attributed text strings having different type styles. In some implementations, developers can use an Application Programming Interface (API) or a design tool to specify dynamic text layout rules for rendering attributed text strings in a user interface (UI). Various text attributes associated with the different type styles (e.g., font metrics) are dynamically adjusted based on the dynamic text layout rules to improve the readability of the text when, for example, font sizes are adjusted. In some implementations, one or more parameters of a text container, text container region, line-fragment or display object are dynamically adjusted based on the dynamic text layout rules to improve the readability of the text.

DEVICE, METHOD, AND GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE FOR MOVING A CURRENT POSITION IN CONTENT AT A VARIABLE SCRUBBING RATE US18443185
[Imran CHAUDHRI, Elizabeth Caroline Furches CRANFILL, Michael J. MATAS, Lucas C. NEWMAN, Marcel VAN OS] US CA Cupertino A method is performed by an electronic device with a display and a touch-sensitive surface. The method includes displaying a progress icon that indicates a current position within u first piece of content, displaying a multi-purpose content navigation icon; while providing the first piece of content: detecting a first contact at a first location that corresponds to the multi-purpose content navigation icon; while continuing to detect the contact at the first location, moving the current position within the first piece of content at a predefined scrubbing rate; and, in response to detecting movement of the contact that includes a first component of movement in a direction that corresponds to movement on the display parallel to the first predefined direction, moving the current position within the first piece of content at a variable scrubbing rate that varies monotonically as the first component of movement increases.
