The first detector outputs a first signal indicative of the first detected fire signature, and the second detector outputs a second signal indicative of the second detected fire signature. A signal processor is provided for combining the first and second signals using a number of correlations, wherein outputs of the first and second detector means are coupled to the signal processor, and the signal processor compares and combines the first and second signals to a first predetermined reference value, and outputs a fire condition signal if a combination of the first and second signals exceeds the predetermined reference value.
