Mobile antenna circuit with variable line length
US9363548
[Wayne L. Jamison]
TX Houston P.O. Box 75144 77234
A mobile antenna circuit for resonant transmitting from an RF signal source may comprise: an antenna having a base and at least first and second conductive sections one of which is extendable and retractable to lengthen and shorten the antenna; a motor operatively connected to one of the conductive sections for extending and retracting the antenna in response to control signals thereto; an impedance matching circuit coupling the RF signal source to the base of the antenna for matching impedance thereof at a specified frequency; and control components connected to the motor to produce control signals for extending and retracting the antenna section so as to resonantly tune the antenna at a specified frequency. The circuit may include a phase angle detector connected between the RF signal source and the impedance matching circuit for developing a voltage differential being fed to the control components for producing the control signals for extending and retracting the antenna section.

Conveyor device for flat objects
US0789550
[Roland Allio, Raymond Chifflet, Phillipe Jeantin]
FRX Paris
A belt and pulley conveyor device for flat objects comprises a substantially linear input conveyor and a substantially linear output conveyor orthogonal to the input conveyor. The input of the output conveyor is substantially contiguous with the output of the input conveyor. A chute is adapted to link the input and output conveyors. It has an object input/output and is adapted to pivot between an idle position in which it extends the output of the input conveyor and a transfer position in which it extends the input of the output conveyor. A control device is adapted to move the chute between the idle and transfer positions.

Thermal modulating control valve
US9113355
[Helmut Standke]
CT Bethel
A thermal modulating control valve for providing bleed air for aircraft anti-icing purposes includes a valve chamber with an inlet for high temperature bleed air and an outlet for temperature modulated bleed air for aircraft systems. A modular valve mechanism is mounted in a chamber for regulating the flow of hot bleed air to the outlet in response to the temperature of the supply. The valve includes a first wall section having a plurality of spaced apart flow orifices or openings in one face and fixedly secured adjacent the inlet end of the chamber, and a second confronting wall section having a plurality of spaced apart flow orifices or openings provided to directly confront the orifices in the first wall section. The wall sections are movable relative to one another in response to the temperature of the bleed air at the inlet end so as to displace the respective sets of flow orifices in and out of registry for controlling the flow of bleed air supplied to the outlet of the valve. A solenoid controlled on/off poppet valve is provided to supply and shut off bleed air to the thermal modulating valve mechanism.

Apparatus for conveying suspended bottles
US856695&
[Gerhard Born, Paul Elsner, Heinz-Jurgen Scherer]
DEX Mannheim
An apparatus for conveying bottles that each have an annular bead on the neck of the bottle. A conveyor line, which extends over the respectively desired conveying path, is provided with a bottle carrier that extends along the conveying path, extends below the bead on the neck of the bottle, and guides the bottles in a suspended state, via the beads, with play, through a guide slot that extends along the conveying path. The conveyer line is also provided with mechanisms for providing the bottles with a feed movement for conveying the latter. To provide a considerably more uniform conveying speed, avoid bottles striking one another, reduce the consumption of energy, and reduce manufacturing expenses, the mechanisms provide the feed movement parallel to the guide slot for the bottle necks, with the guide slot being formed on the bottle carrier. The mechanisms are provided with at least one mechanically movable driving element that mechanically engages the bottles that are to be conveyed. The mechanisms are also provided with mechanical drives and guides for the driving element. Particularly advantageous is the combination of the bottle carrier and the feed mechanism via two conveyers that are guided parallel to one another and at a lateral distance from the guide slot. The beads of the bottle necks rest directly on the side edge regions of these conveyers, which side edge regions are disposed on both sides of the guide slot.

Pneumatically movable device with a safety lock means
US0812102
[Kouichi Osaki]
JPX Maebashi
A pneumatically movable device with a safety lock means having a movable member, a pneumatic actuator connected to the movable member and adapted to move the movable member and a direction control valve connected to the actuator. A cylinder for locking is connected between one of the ports of the cylinder and the direction control valve. A spring is disposed in the cylinder for locking. Openings provided at a chamber at a side of the spring are connected to the actuator and the directional control valve respectively through a check valve disposed for preventing the air from flowing into the cylinder for locking. Openings provided at a chamber at a side remote from the spring are connected to on one hand to the actuator through a check valve disposed for preventing the air from flowing into the cylinder for locking and on the other hand to the directional valve through the check valve with a restrictor disposed for preventing the air from flowing into the direction control valve. A locking member is attached to the piston rod of the cylinder for locking and an engaging member engageable with the locking member is attached to the movable member.

Method of making multilayer composite hollow fibers
US0918946
[Tohru Takemura, Hajime Itoh, Jun Kamo, Haruhiko Yoshida]
JPX Tokyo
Disclosed are a multilayer composite hollow fiber comprising at least one nonporous separating membrane layer (A) performing a separating function and two or more porous layers (B) performing a reinforcing function, the layer (A) and the layers (B) being alternately laminated so as to give a structure having internal and external surfaces formed by the porous layers (B), as well as a method of making such a hollow fiber. In this multilayer composite hollow fiber, the separating membrane can be formed as an ultrathin, homogeneous membrane. Moreover, the separating membrane is not liable to get damaged owing to the unique structure of the hollow fiber. Furthermore, such hollow fibers can be readily and stably produced on an industrial scale.
